Practical information

TOULOUSE

Toulouse is the capital of the largest French region, Midi-Pyrénées (28,000 square miles).

Located 93 miles from the Mediterranean Sea, 155 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and 68 miles from the ski stations of the Pyrenees, Toulouse is ideally situated from a geographical perspective.

The city enjoys a mild climate in autumn and spring and a rather warm and dry summer.

Rich with 2000 years of history, it is known as the "rose-coloured city" because of its well-known architecture of terracotta brick, which was traditionally the area’s main building material.

France’s fourth-largest city, it has the highest annual demographic growth among  European urban centers of more than 850,000 inhabitants.

The second most important university center of France, Toulouse asserts itself as a technological leader in many fields: including the aeronautical industry, aerospace industry, telecoms, medical industry...
